- The Monsters of Rock got the Head Knocker treatment in 2003.
- Extremely rare & highly collectible!
- The Kirk Hammett Head Knocker is approximately 7" (15cm) tall.
- This is for the actual KIRK pictured in the retail box. (Others sold separately.)
In 2003, NECA sent out a limited supply of the Head Knockers, James, Lars, and Kirk, to retail without Metallica's design approval. Once Metallica saw them, the "animated evil" appearance was immediately rejected by the band members. They immediately ordered all retail stores to stop selling them and destroy the product. Metallica left NECA and contracted with SEG or Stevenson Entertainment Group to design and manufacturer a set of four bobbleheads that hit the market soon after.
Very few of the NECA Head Knockers survived the destruction making them one of the most highly sought-after items for the Metallica collector.
